Psychometric Testing

Tests and questionnaires are often used by law firms and other large employers in recruitment and selection. They’re often referred to as ‘psychometric’ because psychological theories of human behaviour have been used to create them.""

Whilst there are tests to assess personality, judgement and memory, these resources are focussed on ways to test your ability with verbal reasoning and numeracy. These are the most common tests used in law.

The University’s Careers & Employability Service subscribes to practice psychometric tests for numeracy and verbal reasoning. Hull students or alumni can access these free of charge. They take approximately 35 minutes to complete. The website also has information on other types of psychometric tests and links to practice sites.
